Her grandfather was a pulmonologist (lung doctor) and radiologist, and her mother was a dentist. Dr. Grija is part of a family that has made people their life. Dr. Grija’s philosophy of medicine emphasizes a focus on people. It brings her great satisfaction to make a person feel better or to save a life. With a passion for internal medicine, Dr. Grija enjoys her work and has made her patients the foundation of her practice. A firm believer in the benefits of alternative medicine, Dr. Grija will only recommend medications that have proven to be safe and effective. Dr. Grija received her medical degree from Carol Davila Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania, and completed her residency at West Suburban Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Grija is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a USCIS designated civil surgeon. She has published a number of medical articles and stays up-to-date on the latest in medicine with continuing education, conferences, and medical journals. Married with two children, Dr. Grija enjoys music, opera, traveling, reading, and swimming. She speaks English and Romanian, as well as some German and French.
